Day 204 --- Psalm 67 - Psalm 71 - Philippians 2

Day 204 --- Psalm 67 - Psalm 71 - Philippians 2
Deliver me, my God, from the hand of the wicked,
from the grasp of those who are evil and cruel

Do everything without grumbling or arguing, 15 so that you may become blameless and pure, “children of God without fault in a warped and crooked generation.”[c] Then you will shine among them like stars in the sky

Day 203 --- Psalm 33 - Psalm 43 - Psalm 66 - Philippians 1

Day 203 --- Psalm 33 - Psalm 43 - Psalm 66 - Philippians 1 3

For the word of the LORD is right and true;
he is faithful in all he does
The LORD loves righteousness and justice;
the earth is full of his unfailing love

It talks about unfailing love so much in the bible and I think about what that really means. Love between humans is very passionate and true but it is failing and it is not pure. A love wtih God can NEVER be broken no matter what, how awesome is that.

Day 202 --- Psalm 1-2 - Psalm 10 - Acts 16:22-40

Day 202 --- Psalm 1-2 - Psalm 10 - Acts 16:22-40

Blessed is the one
who does not walk in step with the wicked
or stand in the way that sinners take
or sit in the company of mockers,
2 but whose delight is in the law of the LORD,

Day 201 --- 2 Kings 24-25 - Acts 16:1-21

Day 201 --- 2 Kings 24-25 - Acts 16:1-21
Once when we were going to the place of prayer, we were met by a female slave who had a spirit by which she predicted the future. She earned a great deal of money for her owners by fortune-telling. 17 She followed Paul and the rest of us, shouting, “These men are servants of the Most High God, who are telling you the way to be saved.” 18 She kept this up for many days. Finally Paul became so annoyed that he turned around and said to the spirit, “In the name of Jesus Christ I command you to come out of her!” At that moment the spirit left her.
19 When her owners realized that their hope of making money was gone, they seized Paul and Silas and dragged them into the marketplace to face the authorities. 20 They brought them before the magistrates and said, “These men are Jews, and are throwing our city into an uproar 21 by advocating customs unlawful for us Romans to accept or practice.”

Day 200 --- 2 Kings 22-23 - Galatians 6

Day 200 --- 2 Kings 22-23 - Galatians 6
200 DAYS OHHH YEAH!

Brothers and sisters, if someone is caught in a sin, you who live by the Spirit should restore that person gently. But watch yourselves, or you also may be tempted. 2 Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ. 3 If anyone thinks they are something when they are not, they deceive themselves. 4 Each one should test their own actions. Then they can take pride in themselves alone, without comparing themselves to someone else, 5 for each one should carry their own load. 6 Nevertheless, the one who receives instruction in the word should share all good things with their instructor.

Day 199 --- 2 Kings 19-21 - Galatians 5

Day 199 --- 2 Kings 19-21 - Galatians 5
1It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery.

So I say, live by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the sinful nature. 17For the sinful nature desires what is contrary to the Spirit, and the Spirit what is contrary to the sinful nature. They are in conflict with each other, so that you do not do what you want. 18But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under law.
19The acts of the sinful nature are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery; 20idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions 21and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like. I warn you, as I did before, that those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God.

Day 198 --- 2 Kings 17-18 - Galatians 4

Day 198 --- 2 Kings 17-18 - Galatians 4

Be glad, O barren woman,
who bears no children;
break forth and cry aloud,
you who have no labor pains;
because more are the children of the desolate woman
than of her who has a husband

Day 197 --- 2 Kings 15-16 - Galatians 3

Day 197 --- 2 Kings 15-16 - Galatians 3
You are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus, 27for all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ. 28There is neither Jew nor Greek, slave nor free, male nor female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus. 29If you belong to Christ, then you are Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise.

Dear father,
Why do I do the sinful things? I hate that this world is filled with hatred, betrayal, lust, etc....I have been on my ups and downs but how foolish I am to have had everything and still not enough? I feel weak and not strong enough and I want you to give me my strength. Why did I not go to you for it? I thought my heart was pure and you knew it, now I am unsure of anything. I feel alone and scared. The things I want out of life I destroy. I believe you can forgive anything and everything, but how can you with me? I have to remember that your power is above anything else. I want to be in heaven, I am your child. I am goign to get baptist in the name of you because if i were baptized into christ, i have clothed myself with you. I am so sorry...please forgive me

Day 196 --- Amos 7-9 - Galatians 2

Day 196 --- Amos 7-9 - Galatians 2
If, while we seek to be justified in Christ, it becomes evident that we ourselves are sinners, does that mean that Christ promotes sin? Absolutely not! 18If I rebuild what I destroyed, I prove that I am a lawbreaker. 19For through the law I died to the law so that I might live for God. 20I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. 21I do not set aside the grace of God, for if righteousness could be gained through the law, Christ died for nothing!"[

Day 195 --- Amos 4-6 - Galatians 1

Day 195 --- Amos 4-6 - Galatians 1
This explains the book of Amos:
Amos is a shepherd and a fruit picker from the Judean village of Tekoa when God calls him, even though he lacks an education or a priestly background. Amos' mission is directed to his neighbor to the north, Israel. His messages of impending doom and captivity for the nation because of her sins are largely unpopular and unheeded, however, because not since the days of Solomon have times been so good in Israel. Amos' ministry takes place while Jeroboam II reigns over Israel, and Uzziah reigns over Judah

Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ, 4who gave himself for our sins to rescue us from the present evil age, according to the will of our God and Father, 5to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.

Day 194 --- Amos 1-3 - Acts 15:22-41

Day 194 --- Amos 1-3 - Acts 15:22-41
36Some time later Paul said to Barnabas, "Let us go back and visit the brothers in all the towns where we preached the word of the Lord and see how they are doing." 37Barnabas wanted to take John, also called Mark, with them, 38but Paul did not think it wise to take him, because he had deserted them in Pamphylia and had not continued with them in the work. 39They had such a sharp disagreement that they parted company. Barnabas took Mark and sailed for Cyprus, 40but Paul chose Silas and left, commended by the brothers to the grace of the Lord. 41He went through Syria and Cilicia, strengthening the churches.

Day 193 --- Jonah 1-4 - Acts 15:1-21

Day 193 --- Jonah 1-4 - Acts 15:1-21

yes! this story is Jonah and the whale. I have heard this story so many times but reading it again lets me remember why he was swallowed up. Jonah did not listen to God's command and the storm was the reason God brought it upon them. He told them to throw him in the water so god can calm the storm. When they did a whale swallowed him where he stayed for 3 days and 3 nights. By God's command the fish threw Jonah up on dry land. This time Jonah went to Nineveh to rid the place of evil and teach God's word.

Day 192 --- 2 Kings 13-14 - James 5

Day 192 --- 2 Kings 13-14 - James 5
You too, be patient and stand firm, because the Lord's coming is near. Don't grumble against each other, brothers, or you will be judged. The Judge is standing at the door! You have heard of Job's perseverance and have seen what the Lord finally brought about. The Lord is full of compassion and mercy.

I remember reading the book of job and that book teaches alot about patience. In James god talks about Job's perseverance and what the Lord finally blessed him with. He is full of compassion and mercy. In the bible it talks so much about fearing the Lord, which we should but I think it is just as important to remember that he is full of compassion and mercy and he understands what it is like to be human.

Day 191 --- 2 Kings 10-12 - James 4

Day 191 --- 2 Kings 10-12 - James 4
"God opposes the proud
but gives grace to the humble"

Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up.

Brothers, do not slander one another. Anyone who speaks against his brother or judges him speaks against the law and judges it. When you judge the law, you are not keeping it, but sitting in judgment on it

Day 190 --- 2 Kings 7-9 - James 3

Day 190 --- 2 Kings 7-9 - James 3
The tongue also is a fire, a world of evil among the parts of the body. It corrupts the whole person, sets the whole course of his life on fire, and is itself set on fire by hell. With the tongue we praise our Lord and Father, and with it we curse men, who have been made in God's likeness. 10Out of the same mouth come praise and cursing. My brothers, this should not be. 11Can both fresh water and salt[a] water flow from the same spring?

In James it talks about the evil that can come off of your tongue. I use my mouth to praise God, sing of his glory, talk to him and I also use the same mouth to gossip, curse, talk badly about someone. It follows the same passage from yesterday, it would be foolish for me to read these things and gods word and not follow them.

Day 189 --- 2 Kings 4-6 - James 2

Day 189 --- 2 Kings 4-6 - James 2
Suppose a man comes into your meeting wearing a gold ring and fine clothes, and a poor man in shabby clothes also comes in. 3If you show special attention to the man wearing fine clothes and say, "Here's a good seat for you," but say to the poor man, "You stand there" or "Sit on the floor by my feet," 4have you not discriminated among yourselves and become judges with evil thoughts?

I think if there is one definte thing i have learned since i started reading the bible. It is to treat everyone the same and not judge those who have less than me. I was always so quick to judge the poor and homeless and what do i know? Who knows if I could be there one day? It is not my job to judge anyone and it is my job to give them what I can because God will give me glory one day.

Day 188 --- 2 Kings 1-3 - James 1

Day 188 --- 2 Kings 1-3 - James 1
because he who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind
When tempted, no one should say, "God is tempting me." For God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does he tempt anyone; 14but each one is tempted when, by his own evil desire, he is dragged away and enticed. My dear brothers, take note of this: Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry.

Anyone who listens to the word but does not do what it says is like a man who looks at his face in a mirror and, after looking at himself, goes away and immediately forgets what he looks like.

these were a couple of verses i picked from James. There were several I have heard of before. The one that hit me the most was if I listen to the word but don't do what it says, its like forgetting what I look like. I tis so important to be quick to listen and slow to speak and slow to become angry. That is the key to alot of Chadd and mine problems.

Day 187 --- 1 Kings 21-22 - Acts 14

Day 187 --- 1 Kings 21-22 - Acts 14
In Lystra there sat a man crippled in his feet, who was lame from birth and had never walked. 9He listened to Paul as he was speaking. Paul looked directly at him, saw that he had faith to be healed 10and called out, "Stand up on your feet!" At that, the man jumped up and began to walk.

Paul was able to cure a man that had a faith in the name of God. The people thought Paul was God in a human form and were going to sacrafice in the name of him. Paul ran away telling them that he was human just like him and that God was the one who made the heaven and the earth.

Day 186 --- 1 Kings 19-20 - Acts 13:26-52

Day 186 --- 1 Kings 19-20 - Acts 13:26-52
Therefore, my brothers, I want you to know that through Jesus the forgiveness of sins is proclaimed to you. 39Through him everyone who believes is justified from everything you could not be justified from by the law of Moses. 40Take care that what the prophets have said does not happen to you:

The first verse, through Jesus the forgiveness of sins is proclaimed to you. I have done some terrible things in my life, and wonder if people have forgave me entirely. The fact is, Jesus is the only one who can wash away my sins. He knows my guilt and what I am sorry for and he forgives me. I am struggling with the fact that I feel he is the only one who can forgive me. What else do i need? Jesus is my life and i will follow him all of my life.

Day 185 --- 1 Kings 16-18 - Acts 13:1-25

Day 185 --- 1 Kings 16-18 - Acts 13:1-25

Then Saul, who was also called Paul, filled with the Holy Spirit, looked straight at Elymas and said You are a child of the devil and an enemy of everything that is right! You are full of all kinds of deceit and trickery. Will you never stop perverting the right ways of the Lord? 11Now the hand of the Lord is against you. You are going to be blind, and for a time you will be unable to see the light of the sun."

Day 184 --- 1 Kings 14-15 - Acts 12

Day 184 --- 1 Kings 14-15 - Acts 12

The pastor at the church I go to on my deployment's first name is Asa. I would of never guessed it to be a biblical name but I read 1Kings 14-15 and found out Asa was king of Judah and he was fully commited to the Lord.

Peter was thrown into prison under King Herods orders. An Angel of the Lord appeared to him when he was sleeping and told him to get dressed and follow him. The angel led him out of the prison and free from herod. When herod woke up in the morning he was so angry he ordered the guards to be executed. Herod then died when the Lord struck him down and was eaten by worms. But the word of god continued to spread.

Day 183 --- 1 Kings 12-13 - Acts 11

Day 183 --- 1 Kings 12-13 - Acts 11
1The apostles and the brothers throughout Judea heard that the Gentiles also had received the word of God. 2So when Peter went up to Jerusalem, the circumcised believers criticized him 3and said, "You went into the house of uncircumcised men and ate with them."

Peter told them about his vision and how the voice told him to go kill and eat. He refused because he would never eat anything unclean. The voice said, 'Do not call anything impure that God has made clean. He told them about the 3 men that took him with Cornelius and how people spoke the holy spirit and God gave them the same gift as he gave us, who believed in the Lord Jesus Christ, who was he to think that he could oppose God?

Day 182 --- Ecclesiastes 10-12 - Acts 10:24-48

Day 182 --- Ecclesiastes 10-12 - Acts 10:24-48
So then, banish anxiety from your heart
and cast off the troubles of your body,
for youth and vigor are meaningless.
For God will bring every deed into judgment,
including every hidden thing,
whether it is good or evil.

Out of the 2 chapters in Ecclesiastes, I picked these two verses out. Getting rid of my anxiety from my heart and casting off the troubles of my body. Giving my worries to the Lord and not worry about what happens because God is in control. Everything we do on Earth will be judged, whether good or evil.

Day 181 --- Ecclesiastes 7-9 - Acts 10:1-23

Day 181 --- Ecclesiastes 7-9 - Acts 10:1-23
When times are good, be happy;
but when times are bad, consider:
God has made the one
as well as the other.
Therefore, a man cannot discover
anything about his future.

Cornelius called for Peter. Peter had a vision and did not understand the meaning of it. The spirit told Peter to go with the men downstairs and not to hesitate. Cornelius has sent the men to bring Peter back to him.

Day 180 --- Ecclesiastes 4-6 - Acts 9:23-43

Day 180 --- Ecclesiastes 4-6 - Acts 9:23-43
Do not be quick with your mouth,
do not be hasty in your heart
to utter anything before God.
God is in heaven
and you are on earth,
so let your words be few

Whoever loves money never has money enough;
whoever loves wealth is never satisfied with his income.
This too is meaningless.

How many times in my life do i worry about money and that I will not have enough? If i love money, I will never have enough. What a true powerful verse that is.

In Act, the Jews conspired to kill Saul. And when Saul met up with the disciples they were fearful of Saul because they did not believe Saul was a disciple now. Barnabus told the disciples about Saul speaking to the Lord. Look at that miracle. Someone who was so against the disciples and the word of God, is now a disciple himself.

Day 179 --- Ecclesiastes 1-3 - Acts 9:1-22

Day 179 --- Ecclesiastes 1-3 - Acts 9:1-22

1 There is a time for everything,
and a season for every activity under heaven:
2 a time to be born and a time to die,
a time to plant and a time to uproot,

3 a time to kill and a time to heal,
a time to tear down and a time to build,

4 a time to weep and a time to laugh,
a time to mourn and a time to dance,

5 a time to scatter stones and a time to gather them,
a time to embrace and a time to refrain,

6 a time to search and a time to give up,
a time to keep and a time to throw away,

7 a time to tear and a time to mend,
a time to be silent and a time to speak,

8 a time to love and a time to hate,
a time for war and a time for peace.

Saul threatened the disciples countless times and God made Saul blind for 3 days and he did not eat or see. Ananias was sent to Saul from God and Saul could see again and was filled with teh holy spirit. So here was a man who threw followers in jail, persecuted, talked badly, and now he was teaching the word of God. People in Jerusalem were amazed at this act of God.

Day 178 --- 1 Kings 10-11 - Acts 8:26-40

Day 178 --- 1 Kings 10-11 - Acts 8:26-40

The Queen of Sheba visited Solomon and was so pleased with his temple and how he worshiped the Lord. She presented him with alot of gold. Solomon married outside of where God told him to. God said to not marry outside women because their hearts belong with a different God and you will go astray. Solomon did not listen and married many woman and eventually worshipped other gods. God was angry at him and stripped him temple from him for his son. Out of respect for David and he did not do this while Solomon was alive.

Day 177 --- 1 Kings 8-9 - Acts 8:1-25

Day 177 --- 1 Kings 8-9 - Acts 8:1-25
Solomen dedicated the temple and God appeared to him saying, I have heard the prayer and plea you have made before me; I have consecrated this temple, which you have built, by putting my Name there forever. My eyes and my heart will always be there.

Saul began to destory the church and throw people in prison. The followers of Christ mourned Stephen's death. Those who had been scattered preached the word wherever they went. 5Philip went down to a city in Samaria and proclaimed the Christ[a]there. 6When the crowds heard Philip and saw the miraculous signs he did, they all paid close attention to what he said. 7With shrieks, evil[b] spirits came out of many, and many paralytics and cripples were healed. 8So there was great joy in that city.

Day 176 --- 1 Kings 5-7 - Acts 7:44-60

Day 176 --- 1 Kings 5-7 - Acts 7:44-60

King Solomen built his temple and palace. Stephen spoke out and told how everyone rejects the holy spirit. Stephen was a man of god and the people were furious and began to stone him. He saw the Lord and Kingdom of heaven and began to pray telling God to forgive them. Then he fell asleep.

Day 175 --- Song of Solomon 6-8 - Acts 7:22-43

Day 175 --- Song of Solomon 6-8 - Acts 7:22-43

I need to look up Song of Solomon to completely understand what the book is about. I am having difficulties understanding the passages.

In acts the book talks about Moses good deeds and Moses story.

Day 174 --- Song of Solomon 4-5 - Acts 7:1-21

Day 174 --- Song of Solomon 4-5 - Acts 7:1-21

Stephen was a faithful man but accused of blaphemsy of God and Moses. Stephen's Speech to the Sanhedrin told of teh history of Moses and how Pharaoh's daughter took him and brought him up as her own son.

Day 173 --- Song of Solomon 1-3 - Acts 6

Day 173 --- Song of Solomon 1-3 - Acts 6
So the word of God spread. The number of disciples in Jerusalem increased rapidly, and a large number of priests became obedient to the faith.

I would of loved to see the works of the apostles and the strong faith they have towards Jesus. They did his work even when he was not their and so many people came to know God because of them.

Day 172 --- Proverbs 30-31 - Acts 5:22-42

Day 172 --- Proverbs 30-31 - Acts 5:22-42

After the apostles escaped from prison the guards and priests were furious with them. They wanted to put them to death but a Pharisee named Gamaliel reminded them of something important. He told them if they are doing the work of God, nothing will be able to stop them. Their leader has died yet they still teach his word. He gave cases of Judas and Theadus claiming to be someboyd and when they were killed their followers left, but the apostles never left Jesus. The priests let them go and told them not to speak the word of god. The apostles rejoiced but never stopped teachign the word.

Day 171 --- Proverbs 27-29 - Acts 5:1-21

Day 171 --- Proverbs 27-29 - Acts 5:1-21
Do not boast about tomorrow,
for you do not know what a day may bring forth.

2 Let another praise you, and not your own mouth;
someone else, and not your own lips

The apostles were fulfilling miraculous sights and it made the high priests and associates jealous. they threw them in jail but an angel of the lord released them for jail and told them to stand in the temple courts and tell the people the good message of this new life.

Day 170 --- Proverbs 25-26 - Acts 4:23-37

Day 170 --- Proverbs 25-26 - Acts 4:23-37

The believers prayed to God and asked him why people did not believe in god when the holy spirit came through peoples' mouths and the blind can see, crippled can walk? After their prayer, they began to be filled with the holy spirit and speak teh word of God loudly. I never understood tongues but this makes me understand it in a better way

Day 169 --- Proverbs 22-24 - Acts 4:1-22

Day 169 --- Proverbs 22-24 - Acts 4:1-22
Do not withhold discipline from a child;
if you punish him with the rod, he will not die.

14 Punish him with the rod
and save his soul from death.

The bible talks alot about wisdom and discipline. I found this verse interesting. It says in Proverbs to not be scared to discipline your child because it will save his soul from death. Very awesome way of explaining that wisdom stems from discipline.

Day 168 --- Proverbs 19-21 - Acts 3

Day 168 --- Proverbs 19-21 - Acts 3
He who is kind to the poor lends to the LORD,
and he will reward him for what he has done.

Giving to the the needy has been in the bible so many times since I have started reading it everyday. I never knew how much it was in the bible. The important thing to remember is to be humble and god will reward me for what I have done.

Peter healed a crippled man in the name of Jesus and showed everyone how jesus was still working. he told them to repent for their sins so they may be forgiven.

Day 167 --- Proverbs 16-18 - Acts 2:22-47

Day 167 --- Proverbs 16-18 - Acts 2:22-47
Commit to the LORD whatever you do,
and your plans will succeed.

Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.

I wondered why it was so important to get baptized and it is something I have wanted to do for a long time. Repenting for my sins and getting baptized in the name of Jesus forgives my sins and I receive teh gift of the holy spirit.

Day 166 --- Proverbs 13-15 - Acts 2:1-21

Day 166 --- Proverbs 13-15 - Acts 2:1-21
The eyes of the LORD are everywhere,
keeping watch on the wicked and the good.
The fear of the LORD teaches a man wisdom, [f]
and humility comes before honor
I love Proverbs and Psalms because of the life lessons it teaches me. The lord is EVERYWHERE I am. I am so torn away from my husband with my deployment but I always have GOd and he goes where I go. The holy spirit came at the day of Pentecost and people started speaking in tongues. Some were amazed and others thought they had too much wine.
'In the last days, God says,
I will pour out my Spirit on all people.
Your sons and daughters will prophesy,
your young men will see visions,
your old men will dream dreams.

Day 165 --- Proverbs 10-12 - Acts 1

Day 165 --- Proverbs 10-12 - Acts 1
Wealth is worthless in the day of wrath,
but righteousness delivers from death
Whoever loves discipline loves knowledge,
but he who hates correction is stupid

An anxious heart weighs a man down,
but a kind word cheers him up.

I picked some verses from Proverbs I liked.
Matthias was chosen to replace Judas, and Judas died in the field he bought and not teh field is called the field of blood.

Day 164 --- Proverbs 8-9 - John 21

Day 164 --- Proverbs 8-9 - John 21

Jesus appeared to the disciples for the third time. The disciples were fishing and Jesus appeared on shore and told them to life their net and it was full of fish. They new it was Jesus without even asking. They swan to shore and Jesus had a fire and bread ready to cook fish.

Day 163 --- Proverbs 5-7 - John 20

Day 163 --- Proverbs 5-7 - John 20
Proverbs has some powerful words about adultry and steering clear of adultress. Sometimes in our lives we make mistakes we are not proud of, but Jesus knows your heart. Just as he knew the heart of the woman that was going to be stoned to death because of adultry, Jesus saved her. He knew her heart.

Jesus appeared to the disciples and Thomas did not believe that Jesus really did appear. When Jesus appeared to him he said this,

Because you have seen me, you have believed; blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed

Day 162 --- Proverbs 2-4 - John 19:23-42

Day 162 --- Proverbs 2-4 - John 19:23-42
Above all else, guard your heart,
for it is the wellspring of life.

24 Put away perversity from your mouth;
keep corrupt talk far from your lips.

25 Let your eyes look straight ahead,
fix your gaze directly before you.

26 Make level [e] paths for your feet
and take only ways that are firm.

27 Do not swerve to the right or the left;
keep your foot from evil.

Those are some powerful words with so much teaching.

Day 161 --- 1 Kings 3-4 - Proverbs 1 - John 19:1-22

Day 161 --- 1 Kings 3-4 - Proverbs 1 - John 19:1-22
Solomen asked for wisdom from God and God gave him what he asked for. Two women were fighting over which baby was theirs. Solomen handled their despute by telling them to cut the baby in half! The real mother with so much compassion for her child screamed for the other lady to take him to spare her child! The king knew then whose baby it really was.

They put a thorn crown on Jesus with a purple robe and struck him. Pilate did not want to crucify Jesus but the chief priests and people screamed to crucify, crucify, crucify! Jesus was crucified with a sign saying King of the Jews.

Day 160 --- 1 Kings 1-2 - John 18:19-40

Day 160 --- 1 Kings 1-2 - John 18:19-40

King David grew up and was dying. He handed the throne over to Solomen where Solomen established his throne as his own.

The high priest struck Jesus for speaking
the truth about his teachings. Peter was asked 2 more times if he was with Jesus, he denied him for the 3rd time and then a rooster crowed just like Jesus predicted.

Day 159 --- Psalm 143-145 - John 18:1-18

Day 159 --- Psalm 143-145 - John 18:1-18

The LORD is gracious and compassionate,
slow to anger and rich in love.
The LORD is good to all;
he has compassion on all he has made.
Jesus was betrayed by Judas and arrested. Peter was asked my a little girl if he was a disciple and Peter denied being one of Jesus.

Day 158 --- Psalm 139-141 - John 17

Day 158 --- Psalm 139-141 - John 17
Before a word is on my tongue
you know it completely, O LORD.
your eyes saw my unformed body.
All the days ordained for me
were written in your book
before one of them came to be
God knows everything im thinking and everythign im feeling. Not even my husband can fully undestand what is going on wtih me. Only God can and he made me with his own hands the way he wanted and saw me before I was even born. I have to remember that God understands me. Jesus prayed for himself and for the disciples he also prayed for all believers. He knew his time was nearing.

Day 157 --- Psalm 109-110 - Psalm 138 - John 16

Day 157 --- Psalm 109-110 - Psalm 138 - John 16

Help me, O LORD my God;
save me in accordance with your love.
Let them know that it is your hand,
that you, O LORD, have done it.

Jesus told the disciples that they will grief the loss of him and one day rejoice. He told them it is like a mother in pain having a baby is overcome with joy when she sees the child and forgets about all the pain she was in. The disciples will grief his death, but one day when they enter the kingdom of heaven they will forget all of it and rejoice.

Day 156 --- Psalm 101 - Psalm 103 - Psalm 108 - John 15

Day 156 --- Psalm 101 - Psalm 103 - Psalm 108 - John 15
The LORD is compassionate and gracious,
slow to anger, abounding in love.
Love each other as I have loved you is the words Jesus spoke. Do we honestly love each other? I have to do some soul searching because there are plenty of people I do not love. How will God answer my prayers and give me what I am desiring if I can't do a simple thing like love one another.

Day 155 --- Psalm 68 - Psalm 72 - Psalm 86 - John 14

Day 155 --- Psalm 68 - Psalm 72 - Psalm 86 - John 14
You are awesome, O God, in your sanctuary;
the God of Israel gives power and strength to his people.
Praise be to God!

Teach me your way, O LORD,
and I will walk in your truth;
give me an undivided heart,
that I may fear your name

Lord, I ask for you help. I ask that you get me through the next 67 days, bring me home to my husband and family. I ask that you keep me safe from evil and the things that tempt me in my life. I ask that you comfort me with my sleeping problems and ask that I become dependent on you and not anything medicine.

Day 154 --- Psalm 61-62 - Psalm 65 - John 13:21-38

Day 154 --- Psalm 61-62 - Psalm 65 - John 13:21-38

This verse tends to be in a lot of church songs as well. he is our rock and being with him, i cannot be shaken.
He alone is my rock and my salvation;
he is my fortress, I will never be shaken

Jesus also predicted Peter denying him 3 times. I wonder what god predicts me doing? Surely god will reward us for the right we have done in our lives.

Day 153 --- Psalm 53 - Psalm 55 - Psalm 58 - John 13:1-20

Day 153 --- Psalm 53 - Psalm 55 - Psalm 58 - John 13:1-20
Cast your cares on the LORD
and he will sustain you;
he will never let the righteous fall.

But as for me, I trust in you.

Jesus already predicited Judas betraying him and made a remark saying that not everyone was clean, the disciples did not understand fully what he meant by that.

Day 152 --- Psalm 39-41 - John 12:27-50

Day 152 --- Psalm 39-41 - John 12:27-50
Blessed is the man
who makes the LORD his trust
When a man believes in me, he does not believe in me only, but in the one who sent me. 45When he looks at me, he sees the one who sent me. 46I have come into the world as a light, so that no one who believes in me should stay in darkness

Jesus did so many miraculous sights and people still did not believe in him. He tol them that he is the light and if you follow him you will not know darkness.

Jesus said whatever he says is words directly from the fathers mouth. Jesus did not come to the world to judge, rather than to save the world.

Day 151 --- Psalm 36-38 - John 12:1-26

Day 151 --- Psalm 36-38 - John 12:1-26

The women poured the perfume on Jesus feet and whiped them with her hair. she did this to prepare him for burial.

Whoever serves me must follow me; and where I am, my servant also will be. My Father will honor the one who serves me

Day 150 --- Psalm 31 - Psalm 35 - John 11:30-57

Day 150 --- Psalm 31 - Psalm 35 - John 11:30-57
Say to my soul,
"I am your salvation."

Look how simple this is..and think about what this means. Jesus wept. He came into the world just like a human, endured pain like a human, grieved like a human, loved like a human....i have to remember that God undestands exactly what is going on with me and that Jesus cried just like I do.

My tongue will speak of your righteousness
and of your praises all day long.

Day 149 --- Psalm 27-29 - John 11:1-29

Day 149 --- Psalm 27-29 - John 11:1-29
I actually read Psalm 27 in an english class i had. I picked that scripture because of the first verse.
The LORD is my light and my salvation—
whom shall I fear?
The LORD is the stronghold of my life—
of whom shall I be afraid?

If i trust in god and put him first, who should i be afraid of? No matter what happens to me on earth, god will always be there for me. That is something to celebrate.

Day 148 --- Psalm 24-26 - John 10:22-42

Day 148 --- Psalm 24-26 - John 10:22-42
The earth is the LORD's, and everything in it,
the world, and all who live in it;
2 for he founded it upon the seas
and established it upon the waters.

I liked the above verse because if you think about what we did to the earth and god gaves us, it is disheartening. THis is his earth and he founded everything in this world.

The Jews demanded Jesus to tell them upfront if he is Christ. He told them after all the miracles they still dont believe and that his sheep believe him because they follow him and he gives them eternal life. I tried to imagine if I lived back then and what I would think/feel. It is hard to say, but after all the miracles it would be hard for me to deny who he really was.

Day 147 --- Psalm 20-22 - John 10:1-21

Day 147 --- Psalm 20-22 - John 10:1-21

Jesus told a story using figure of speech about a sheep and a watchman. All those that climbed into a fence and did not come through the gate are thieves and robbers. He then talked about how he is that gate and all who enter it will be saved. He was referring to himself and that the people before him were robbers and thieves. People mocked him and said he must be demon possessed, but others said he couldnt be because a demon possessed man could not heal the blind.

Day 146 --- Psalm 17 - Psalm 19 - John 9:24-41

Day 146 --- Psalm 17 - Psalm 19 - John 9:24-41

May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart
be pleasing in your sight,
O LORD, my Rock and my Redeemer.

They mocked the blind man that Jesus healed and gave him vision. They told him that he has mistaken and Moses was the prophet. Jesus told the man he was the son of God and the man believed. He told the others that they are the ones blind by not seeing the truth

Day 145 --- Psalm 15-16 - John 9:1-23

Day 145 --- Psalm 15-16 - John 9:1-23

Jesus healed a blind man by spitting on the ground and making mud. He told the man to go was and when he did the man could see again. His parents told the priests that their son was of age to say so for himself. The man said that Jesus was a prophet.

Keep me safe, O God,
for in you I take refuge

Day 144 --- Psalm 12-14 - John 8:28-59

Day 144 --- Psalm 12-14 - John 8:28-59
And the words of the LORD are flawless

Jesus said this to the Devil's children:
He who belongs to God hears what God says. The reason you do not hear is that you do not belong to God. I hear God speak to me daily and its is so hard to do what he tell sme when I want something different. I have to remember I am not in charge of my own life, he is.

Day 143 --- Psalm 9 - Psalm 11 - John 8:1-27

Day 143 --- Psalm 9 - Psalm 11 - John 8:1-27

I heard this in church the other day. In John 8: a woman was caught in the act of adultry and the people wanted to stone her to death. Jesus told them to cast the first stone if you have never sinned. No one threw the first stone and he told the woman to go and leave her life of sin. Jesus knows our hearts. If we ask for forgiveness we will receive it if he knows our heart is true. I am not perfet and make mistakes all the time, I struggle with things in my life. I pray that Jesus knows my heart and knows who I am. I know he does.

If you know Jesus, you will know his father.

Day 142 --- Psalm 7-8 - John 7:28-53

Day 142 --- Psalm 7-8 - John 7:28-53

I picked a few verses out of Psalm 7 I liked.
let the LORD judge the peoples.
Judge me, O LORD, according to my righteousness,
according to my integrity, O Most High.
I will give thanks to the LORD because of his righteousness
and will sing praise to the name of the LORD Most High
I feel so great worshiping god with praise and thanking him for alll he has done for me.

Guards that were told to get Jesus did not because of his speaking. They said they have never heard anyone speak like that. I wonder how magestic it was to hear him talk.

Day 141 --- Psalm 4-6 - John 7:1-27

Day 141 --- Psalm 4-6 - John 7:1-27

Give ear to my words, O LORD,
consider my sighing.
Listen to my cry for help,
my King and my God,
for to you I pray.

Jesus said in John 7:
My teaching is not my own. It comes from him who sent me.

Jesus is speaking but God is coming through him. Some people thing Jesus and God are two different people but a verse like this lets me know that God is working through him. Jesus and God may be two seperate beings, but they are the same person.

Day 140 --- 2 Samuel 23-24 - John 6:41-71

Day 140 --- 2 Samuel 23-24 - John 6:41-71

David built an altar to the LORD there and sacrificed burnt offerings and fellowship offerings. Then the LORD answered prayer in behalf of the land, and the plague on Israel was stopped.
This is the book of 2 Samuel

No one has seen the Father except the one who is from God; only he has seen the Father. I tell you the truth, he who believes has everlasting life. The 12 disciples believed Jesus and chose to follow him. Jesus even said one of you is the devil! He meant Judas because Judas would later betray him.

Day 139 --- 2 Samuel 21-22 - Psalm 18 - John 6:22-40

Day 139 --- 2 Samuel 21-22 - Psalm 18 - John 6:22-40

People will come in and out of my life and some I will have until death and some will only be for a while. Isn't it amazing to think I will ALWAYS have Jesus, no matter what. I have seen relationships end and tear each other apart, but the relationship you have with teh Lord will not be broken apart. What an amazing gift. We are all searching for love and acceptance, and with God this is possible.

"I am the bread of life. He who comes to me will never go hungry, and he who believes in me will never be thirsty

Day 138 Psalm 64, Psalm 70, John 6 :1-21

I think about miracles and what they look like. I see miracles all the time but it takes a little to really realize that somethign miraculious has happened. Jesus fed 5 thousand people with little food, could you imagine what that would be like to see? He also walked on water and this frightened teh disciples, and I cannot say it would not scare me too. He told them not to be afraid and he was here.

Day 137 --- 2 Samuel 19-20 - John 5:25-47

Let all the Earth Rejoice.
Day 137 --- 2 Samuel 19-20 - John 5:25-47

for a time is coming when all who are in their graves will hear his voice 29and come out—those who have done good will rise to live, and those who have done evil will rise to be condemned. 30By myself I can do nothing; I judge only as I hear, and my judgment is just, for I seek not to please myself but him who sent me.

There is going to be a time when I die and I go in front of my maker. There are things in my life that I am not proud of, but Jesus will know my heart. I have sinned so many times i would not be able to count, but I repent for them and I want to be a child of the Lord. One day, I will stand before my maker and have to take count for all that I have done wrong. I will be judged that day, not here on Earth. I seek to please you God. Please forgive me for my wrong doings, I know in my heart you forgive. Forgiveness in you is more powerful than anyone else on earth and it is hard for humans to even comprehend unconditional love. In church today the Chaplain talked about how we all search for unfailing love and we will never find it in a human. We all make mistakes, God is the one who forgives me and makes me pure again. I seek his acceptance and love. When I die, I want God to take me into his arms and love me unconditionally. One day my dream will come true! I am yours God, take me as you will!

Day 136 --- 2 Samuel 16-18 - John 5:1-24

Day 136 --- 2 Samuel 16-18 - John 5:1-24

22Moreover, the Father judges no one, but has entrusted all judgment to the Son, 23that all may honor the Son just as they honor the Father. He who does not honor the Son does not honor the Father, who sent him.
"I tell you the truth, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life and will not be condemned; he has crossed over from death to life.

Day 135 --- 2 Samuel 15 - Psalm 3 - Psalm 69 - John 4:27-54

Day 135 --- 2 Samuel 15 - Psalm 3 - Psalm 69 - John 4:27-54

Those who hate me without reason
outnumber the hairs of my head;
many are my enemies without cause,
those who seek to destroy me.
I am forced to restore
what I did not steal

The Samorite women that Jesus spoke with gave her testimony and many other Samorites believed. After hearing Jesus, they new he was the savior.

Day 134 --- 2 Samuel 13-14 - John 4:1-26

Day 134 --- 2 Samuel 13-14 - John 4:1-26
Amnon son of David fell in love with Tamar, the beautiful sister of Absalom son of David. Amnon tricked Tamar and ended up raping her. Absalom was so angry that he ended up killing Amnon.

Jesus spoke to a Samarite woman. He explained to her that who ever drinks will be thirsty again, but whoever has the holy spirit will never grow thirsty.

Day 133 --- Psalm 32 - Psalm 51 - John 3:16-36

Day 133 --- Psalm 32 - Psalm 51 - John 3:16-36

Blessed is he
whose transgressions are forgiven,
whose sins are covered.
Blessed is the man
whose sin the LORD does not count against him
and in whose spirit is no deceit.

Both of these Psalms talk about forgiveness and being remorseful for your sins.
Create in me a pure heart, O God,
and renew a steadfast spirit within me.

John 3:16-36 is a great passage. For god so loved teh world he gave his only son. If you do not see the light and stay in the darkness, you will not have eternal life. John the Baptist was put ahead of Jesus and when people questioned who Jesus was and whyw as he baptizing, John told them that the Lord has sent his son, and has placed everything inhis hands.

Day 132 --- 2 Samuel 10-12 - John 3:1-15

Day 132 --- 2 Samuel 10-12 - John 3:1-15

I read Samuel 11 and the whole time i was thinking, what does God think about this. David slept with another man's wife and she became pregnant. He had her husband sent off to war so he would surely die. When her husband died, david married the man's wife and she bore him a son. At the end of samuel 11 it says that god was upset with david. The son that the wife had bore him died on the 70th day.

"I tell you the truth, no one can see the kingdom of God unless he is born again

I cannot wait to be baptized!

Day 131 --- 2 Samuel 8-9 - Psalm 60 - John 2

Day 131 --- 2 Samuel 8-9 - Psalm 60 - John 2

David defeated the Phillistines and the Lord gave him victories where ever he went.

I think our country needs this verse more than anything.

Give us aid against the enemy,
for the help of man is worthless.

12 With God we will gain the victory,
and he will trample down our enemies.

Day 130 --- 2 Samuel 6-7 - Psalm 30 - John 1:29-51

Day 130 --- 2 Samuel 6-7 - Psalm 30 - John 1:29-51

I love Psalms and the meaning behind the verses.
that my heart may sing to you and not be silent.
O LORD my God, I will give you thanks forever.

Jesus called his first disciples.
Andrew, Simon Peter's brother, was one of the two who heard what John had said and who had followed Jesus. 41The first thing Andrew did was to find his brother Simon and tell him, "We have found the Messiah" (that is, the Christ). 42And he brought him to Jesus.Jesus looked at him and said, "You are Simon son of John. You will be called Cephas" (which, when translated, is Peter[a]).

Day 129 --- 2 Samuel 3-5 - John 1:1-28

Day 129 --- 2 Samuel 3-5 - John 1:1-28

The war between the house of Saul and the house of David lasted a long time. David grew stronger and stronger, while the house of Saul grew weaker and weaker.
Joab murders Abner because Abner had killed his brothe rin the battle of Gideon. David became king of Israel and conquered the Phillistines while taking over Jerusalem.

1In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2He was with God in the beginning.
3Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made. 4In him was life, and that life was the light of men. 5The light shines in the darkness, but the darkness has not understood[a] it.

Day 128 --- 2 Samuel 1-2 - Luke 24:36-53

Day 128 --- 2 Samuel 1-2 - Luke 24:36-53

David heard of Saul and Jonathon's death and later David was anointed King of Judah. War between the hosues of Saul and David broke out.

Jesus appeared the the disciples and said, peace be with you. They were so frightened and amazed. Could you imagine seeing someone die and then the next day being greeted by that same person? Wow, what an amazing sight that would have been.
This is the book of Luke.

Day 127 --- 1 Samuel 30-31 - Luke 24:1-35

Day 127 --- 1 Samuel 30-31 - Luke 24:1-35

David Destroys the Amalekites and Saul fell into his own sword and took his own life.

On the third day just like Jesus promised, he rose from the dead. The tomb was empty and Peter wondered what had happened. They remember Jesus saying he will be given to the hands of sinful man and on third day he will rise. Jesus appeared to Simon after and walked with him. Simon and another did not know it was him until he broke bread and jsut as they saw Jesus, he was gone. They went back to the Eleven and told what had happened.

Day 126 --- 1 Samuel 28-29 - Luke 23:26-56

Day 126 --- 1 Samuel 28-29 - Luke 23:26-56

What powerful words in Luke 12:26-56

"Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing."

Imagine having people pound nails into your hands and feet and hanging you to die, and you forgive them. I struggle with forgiving people for small thinsg and look what Jesus can forgive. One of the other men dying on a cross asked Jesus to remember him. Jesus told him he will be going to paradise with him. At the moment of death he is still forgiving and saving. Just like he is in my life everyday.

Day 125 --- 1 Samuel 24-27 - Luke 23:1-25

Day 125 --- 1 Samuel 24-27 - Luke 23:1-25

Pilate wanted to release Jesus, but people shouted to crucify him crucify him! Pilate asked what has this man that deserves the death penalty? They never answered the question just kept saying crucify him! Instead Pilate listened to the People's requested and released Barabbas, a murderer. They decided to crucify Jesus.

Day 124 --- 1 Samuel 23 - Psalm 54 - Psalm 63 - Luke 22:47-71

Day 124 --- 1 Samuel 23 - Psalm 54 - Psalm 63 - Luke 22:47-71

Psalm 63 is from David when he was in the desert of Judah.

I will praise you as long as I live,
and in your name I will lift up my hands.

In church they talked about how we all have been betrayed before. Even Jesus was betrayed. In this passage in Luke, Jesus was betrayed by Judas. He gave him a kiss so the high priests and officials knew which one was Jesus. Peter denied Jesus 3 times just as he said he would. I read how the guards mocked Jesus and what he said he was. They insulted and beat him, it made me sad to read that.

Day 123 --- Psalm 52 - Psalm 57 - Psalm 142 - Luke 22:24

Day 123 --- Psalm 52 - Psalm 57 - Psalm 142 - Luke 22:24

I really enjoy reading psalms. I love every book of the bible but there is something about the way psalms speaks to me. I read this verse,
Your tongue plots destruction;
it is like a sharpened razor,
you who practice deceit.

How is it for us to talk evil and gossip? I do it all the time. God is telling me i need to stop plotting destruction.

Psalms 142 is a prayer David said while he was in a cave. I think about our POW right now held in Afghanistan or Pakistan when I read this. I would imagine he is praying the same prayer. His sister has a blog that she prays on everyday for her brother. I read this verse and thought of our POW. God I ask you to give him strength and courage and rescue him from his prison..

Listen to my cry,
for I am in desperate need;
rescue me from those who pursue me,
for they are too strong for me.

Day 122 --- 1 Samuel 22 - Psalm 56 - Luke 22:1-23

Day 122 --- 1 Samuel 22 - Psalm 56 - Luke 22:1-23

This was a verse in Psalm 56
When I am afraid,
I will trust in you.

4 In God, whose word I praise,
in God I trust; I will not be afraid.
What can mortal man do to me?

It follows the same way with saying with god all things are possible. If i trust in him, who can i be afraid of? He is the ultimate power.

In Luke the Lord's supper happened and Judah sat at the table when Jesus said one of you will betray me. I remember everytime I take communion what it really means to me. The blood and flesh of my savior

Day 121 --- 1 Samuel 20-21 - Psalm 34 - Luke 21:20-38

Day 121 --- 1 Samuel 20-21 - Psalm 34 - Luke 21:20-38

David pretended to be insane before Abimelech, who drove him away, and he left. Psalm 34 is the words David spoke. Here is a little glimpse of them.

I will extol the LORD at all times;
his praise will always be on my lips.
2 My soul will boast in the LORD;
let the afflicted hear and rejoice.

3 Glorify the LORD with me;
let us exalt his name together

Jesus told them,
Be always on the watch, and pray that you may be able to escape all that is about to happen, and that you may be able to stand before the Son of Man.
He told a parable and said when a tree sprouts leaves, you know summer is coming just like you know the kingdom of god is coming.

Day 120 --- 1 Samuel 19 - Psalm 23 - Psalm 59 - Luke 21:1-19

Day 120 --- 1 Samuel 19 - Psalm 23 - Psalm 59 - Luke 21:1-19

Saul wanted to kill David and told Jonathon about his plan. Johnathon wondered why he would want to do that because of all the things David has done in the eyes of the Lord.

HMMMMM! PSALM 23~! This is the most beautiful passage, i had to post the whole thing. When I read the words to this, I embrace them and feel what God is telling me!
1 The LORD is my shepherd, I shall not be in want.
2 He makes me lie down in green pastures,
he leads me beside quiet waters,

3 he restores my soul.
He guides me in paths of righteousness
for his name's sake.

4 Even though I walk
through the valley of the shadow of death, [a]
I will fear no evil,
for you are with me;
your rod and your staff,
they comfort me.

5 You prepare a table before me
in the presence of my enemies.
You anoint my head with oil;
my cup overflows.

6 Surely goodness and love will follow me
all the days of my life,
and I will dwell in the house of the LORD
forever.
Psalm 59 fits pretty well with all hatred and fighting in the world. It lets me know that God will protect me from my enemies.
Deliver me from evildoers
and save me from bloodthirsty men.

3 See how they lie in wait for me!
Fierce men conspire against me
for no offense or sin of mine, O LORD.

I remember this verse from church when i was younger. A widow gave 2 pennies to the church and a rich person gave a treasure. Jesus said that the widow gave more than anyone else. Its not about the AMOUNT of money, its about what you will sacrafice.

This honestly puts a good feeling in my stomach. I am so concerned abotu what is happening, and then i read this!

When you hear of wars and revolutions, do not be frightened. These things must happen first, but the end will not come right away!

Yes, some meaning! :)

Day 119 --- 1 Samuel 17-18 - Luke 20:27-47

Day 119 --- 1 Samuel 17-18 - Luke 20:27-47

I have heard about how courageous David was in the battle with Goliath lots of times. I am so happy I read the bible in order because now I understand why the battle was so important and how the Lord was with David and Goliath was a Philistine. Later on in 1 Samuel, Saul is frightened by David's power and is jealous of him as well.

Beware of the teachers of the law. They like to walk around in flowing robes and love to be greeted in the marketplaces and have the most important seats in the synagogues and the places of honor at banquets. 47They devour widows' houses and for a show make lengthy prayers. Such men will be punished most severely."

Day 118 --- 1 Samuel 15-16 - Luke 20:1-26

Day 118 --- 1 Samuel 15-16 - Luke 20:1-26

The Lord rejects Saul as a king. Interesting verse i found, . Man looks at the outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart. We judge so much as humans on appearance, but god doesnt. He looks right into your heart.

Jesus told a parable of the tenants. He was speaking to the people about them in this parable and about sending his only son only to be persecuted.

Day 117 --- 1 Samuel 13-14 - Luke 19:28-48

Day 117 --- 1 Samuel 13-14 - Luke 19:28-48

In Luke it talks about how Jesus entered Jerusalem in a triumph. People laid down their coats and cloaks for him to ride on a horse. I often try to imagine what it will be like. Everytime I hear the song, I can only Imagine. I really try to imagine what Jesus will be like. I wonder if he will ride in on a horse? I cannot wait to see how magical it is. We as humans dont have the minds to even grasp what heaven is like. It is beyond any paradise we can ever picture. That day will be a day to rejoice. Thank you Jesus for dying for me. I will live for you!

Day 116 --- 1 Samuel 10-12 - Luke 19:1-27

Day 116 --- 1 Samuel 10-12 - Luke 19:1-27

Sauel was announced as the King and Samuel parted ways after his long prophecy. This verse was in 1Samuel and it had alot of meaning behind it.
But be sure to fear the LORD and serve him faithfully with all your heart; consider what great things he has done for you.

In Luke Zacchaeus couldnt not see Jesus so he climed a sycamore tree to see him. Jesus saw him and told him to come down because he was going to stay with him. I remember that song from bible school.

The other day one of the guys in my unit told people an awful thing about me, i could have retaliated and got him back, but i prayed for him. Jesus said, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute against you.

Day 115 --- 1 Samuel 7-9 - Luke 18:24-43

Day 115 --- 1 Samuel 7-9 - Luke 18:24-43

Israel asked for a King and Saul was anointed by Samuel and became the king of Israel.

Jesus made a blind man see and he predicts his own death. The disciples had no idea what he was talking about when he said this. He talked about how it is easy for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than a rich man enter the kingdom of heaven. Then he say's my favorite verse.
What is impossible with men is possible with God

Day 114 --- 1 Samuel 4-6 - Luke 18:1-23

Day 114 --- 1 Samuel 4-6 - Luke 18:1-23

At Church they talked about prayer and if we really set the time out of our day to pray. I talk to God all day, when i walk, when I think, I am talking to him and myself. I am praying. I want to take more time out of my day to pray and thank him. I can't turn to him only in times of despair, he wants to know the good as well.

Jesus told the disciples a parable telling them to pray and never give up. I am praying that my husband will be safe on his tour and I will come home soon. that we can live a normal life and get through hard times.

For everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted

Day 113 --- 1 Samuel 1-3 - Luke 17:20-37

Day 113 --- 1 Samuel 1-3 - Luke 17:20-37

Hannah and her husband Elkanah were unable to conceive. She prayed and asked God to bless her with a child. That night she conceived a little boy and named him Samuel. Samuel grew and was blessed by God. Samuel heard his name being called and kept running to Eli, but after 3 times he said after his name was called, Lord speak your servant is listening. All of Israel attested that Samuel was a prophet of the Lord.

Jesus talks about the Kingdom of God and how it is inside of you. When God comes, two people will be lying and one will be taken. Where there is a dead body, the vultures will come.

Day 112 --- Ruth 1-4 - Luke 17:1-19

Day 112 --- Ruth 1-4 - Luke 17:1-19

I went to church today, it is mesmerizing what the Lord can do for you. Today I woke up angry with God. I am deployed and my husband is deploying when I get home. I am angry that God did this to us. I know God is testing my faith. Faith is knowing what is not seen and believing. With man it is impossible, but with god all things are possible. I can do this.

Naomi had lost her husband and two sons. Her daughter in laws wanted to stay with her but Naomi told Ruth and Orpah to leave and go start a new life. Ruth decided to stay with her and let Naomi know that she was not going to leave her side. Naomi felt betrayed by God. I feel like Naomi and feel like things are being taken away from me. Ruth had so much compassion and love from God that she was willing to stay with her mother in law and take care of her. She ended up marrying Boaz and he saw the love she had in her heart. What a beautiful woman Ruth was.

In the book of Luke Jesus talked about forgiving. If your brother sins and he repents, forgive him. If he sins 7 times and repents, forgive him.

Day 111 --- Judges 19-21 - Luke 16

Day 111 --- Judges 19-21 - Luke 16

I saw this verse in Luke and it popped right out.
13"No servant can serve two masters. Either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and Money."
Sometimes I get wrapped around money and have to remember that I cannot put anything, including wealth, before Jesus. Jesus told a parable and the pharisees laughed at him. He told them, You are the ones who justify yourselves in the eyes of men, but God knows your hearts.
In Luke it talks about a rich man and a poor man named Lazarus. The rich man showed no mercy to the poor and when they died the rich man went to hell. He begged for help but Abraham told him this is where he shall stay because of the person he was.

Sometimes I would judge the poor and the homeless, but now I think what would Jesus do? I want God to know that I care about those that don't have what I do.

Day 110 --- Judges 16-18 - Luke 15:11-32

Day 110 --- Judges 16-18 - Luke 15:11-32

I found out my husband will be gong to afghanistan for 7 months after my deployment. I want so badly to give up my faith but I feel God is testing us and myself. I am not going to stray.

Samson fell in love with a girl named Delilah. Delilah convinced Samson to tell her why he was so strong and then turned him over to the Philistines who eventually killed him.

In Luke Jesus tells a parable about a lost son. One of the sons went away and spent all his money. When he has poor and starving he went back to his father and begged for mercy saying he sinned against heaven and his father. The father was so happy he killed a fatten calf for celebration. The older brother was angry that the lost brother was getting so much glory for disobeying. The father told him, rejoice he was lost but now is found. I really enjoyed this parable and how happy we have to be if someone is evil in their life and turns to god, rejoice!

Day 109 --- Judges 13-15 - Luke 15:1-10

Day 109 --- Judges 13-15 - Luke 15:1-10

Manoah's wife was sterile and an angel of the Lord appeared to her and told he she was going to be pregnant and he named him samson. The lord blessed him. Judges 14 and 15 are about Samson's wedding and vengeance.

Jesus told two parables about repenting. He said if a woman lost a coin she would search and sweep the floors and then rejoice when she finds it. There is rejoicing in the presence of angels when a sinner repents. He told another parable about a lost sheep and there is more rejoicing with a sinner repents than when 99 persons dont repent.

Day 108 --- Judges 11-12 - Luke 14:25-35

Day 108 --- Judges 11-12 - Luke 14:25-35

Jesus explained the cost of being a disciple. He said that anyone who does not give up everything he has, cannot be a disciple. He who has ears to hear, let him hear.

Day 107 --- Judges 9-10 - Luke 14:1-24

Day 107 --- Judges 9-10 - Luke 14:1-24

Again the Israelites did evil in the eyes of the LORD. They served the Baals and the Ashtoreths, and the gods of Aram, the gods of Sidon, the gods of Moab, the gods of the Ammonites and the gods of the Philistines. And because the Israelites forsook the LORD and no longer served him, 7 he became angry with them. The Israelites once again cried out for help.

Jesus told a parable about a banquet. Instead of inviting friends, neighbors, rich people, family, invite the poor, crippled, blind. The rich will repay you but invite the others and you will be blessed.
1For everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted."

Day 106 --- Judges 7-8 - Luke 13:23-35

Day 106 --- Judges 7-8 - Luke 13:23-35

Gideon defeated the Midianites and died in Judges 8. No sooner later did the Israelites prostitute themselves to the Balaas. They forgot everything God had done for them and failed to show kindness to the family of Gideon for all he had done.

I recommend reading Luke 13:23-30. The door will be narrow to the kingdom of heaven, he will deny those that deny him. There will be weeping at the door and where you will see Abraham, Moses and the prophets and you yourself will be thrown out. I dont want to be thrown out, i want to always know Jesus and I will never deny you.

Day 105 --- Judges 4-6 - Luke 13:1-22

Day 105 --- Judges 4-6 - Luke 13:1-22

Israel did evil in God's eyes so he handed them over to the Midianites. Deborah sang this song, this is the last verse.
"So may all your enemies perish, O LORD!
But may they who love you be like the sun
when it rises in its strength."
Then the land had peace forty years.
Once again, it is hard for me to grasp how someone can be so disobedient. Then i thought about the wrong I have done in my life. I have never worshiped another God, but I have broke his commandments and have done wrong in his eyes. He is a wonderful God to forgive me for all I have done, just as he keeps forgiving the Israelites when they repent.

Jesus said, unless you repent you will perish. It is so important for me to recognize my wrongdoings. After i say something I know Jesus wouldn't say, I immediately know if God approves, i feel it in my heart. Jesus compared heaven to a mustard seed that grows into a tree where birds perch. He tells alot of parables, but you have to imagine what he is trying to say. He healed on the Sabbath and It upset people because the 7th day was a day for rest. He told them they are hyprocrites because if you lead your ox or donkey to go drink water, what is any different from helping a women who has had a crippled back for 18 years.

Day 104 --- Judges 1-3 - Luke 12:32-59

Day 104 --- Judges 1-3 - Luke 12:32-59

The Israelites fight the remaining Canaanites. They broke the covenant with the lord and worshiped Gods. I think I have read over 20 times where God clearly tells them that he is a jealous God and not to have any God's before him. How many time does he have to say it and how many times does he have to prove who he is? He led them away from Egypt, gave them land and love and that is how they treat him. It makes me so confused why anyone would want to worship idols, don't they see God's love yet?

In Luke it said that where your treasure is your heart will lie also. This is so interesting because if my treasure is my faith and giving my life to Jesus, that is where my heart is. If my treasure is having a nice car, money, house, that is where my heart will lie. None of those material things matter once I have eternal life.

You also must be ready, because the Son of Man will come at an hour when you do not expect him."

Day 103 --- Joshua 22-24 - Luke 12:1-31

Day 103 --- Joshua 22-24 - Luke 12:1-31

Joshua grew old and was buried in the promised land. He renewed the covenant before his death and explained to them that God was a jealous God and just as he promised and fulfilled everything he spoke, he could bring evil upon them in they disobeyed his commands and worshiped idols.
This is the book of Joshua.

Jesus said, whoever acknowledges god before men will be acknowledged before the angels in heaven. Whoever denies Jesus, will be denied in Heaven. Then the perfect passage is in Luke for me in my life. It talks about worrying. I tell my self all the time to have faith and god will take care of my worries. I pray every night and give god my worries, and usually i can fall asleep while im talking to him. I have to remember my faith and trust in him. He will not let me go without, he knows all my needs.

Day 102 --- Joshua 19-21 - Luke 11:29-54

Day 102 --- Joshua 19-21 - Luke 11:29-54

God gave Israel all the land he promised their forefathers and never let an enemy win in battle against them. Joshua 19 talks about the allotments given and where people are to flee under circumstances.

I love this verse in Joshua and the past books have talked about this same one. You would never put a lit lamp under a bowl or table, but rather on top of something. We have to let our light shine for Jesus and overcome the bad. I struggle everyday with evil and sin and it is no easier out here with my constant struggle. The way I shine my light and love for Jesus, shows what kind of person I am. I need to never let my darkness show and always remember to let it shine! God did so much for me, I am forever grateful for my life and the love he has shown me. Thank you Jesus, thank you! I promise to let my light shine!

Day 101 --- Joshua 16-18 - Luke 11:1-28

Day 101 --- Joshua 16-18 - Luke 11:1-28

Joshua talks about the division of the land and which clan will live in which part of the land.
I was wondering myself why we said the Lord's prayer growing up in church and i was so happy i found this verse to answer my question.
1One day Jesus was praying in a certain place. When he finished, one of his disciples said to him, "Lord, teach us to pray, just as John taught his disciples."
2He said to them, "When you pray, say:
" 'Father,[a]
hallowed be your name,
your kingdom come.[b]
3Give us each day our daily bread.
4Forgive us our sins,
for we also forgive everyone who sins against us.[c]
And lead us not into temptation.[d]' "

Whoever knocks at a door will be answered, those believe will receive. Blessed are those who hear the word of god and obey it.

Day 100 --- Joshua 13-15 - Luke 10:25-42

HUNDRED POSTS!!!!!!!!!!!!

Joshua was getting old, but there was still so much land to be taken. Joshua divided the land and gave the inheritance to those that inherited.

In Luke it talks about how to have eternal life. We have love our god with all of our strength, soul, and mind and love your neighbors as yourself. I think that is what is bothering me so much about this war. Are we loving each other as we would ourselves? Are we having any type of mercy on each other? I often wonder if the terrorists knew god, how much things would change. I know we would not even be over here if they knew god's love and loved each other as themselves.

Day 99 --- Joshua 10-12 - Luke 10:1-24

Day 99 --- Joshua 10-12 - Luke 10:1-24

I heard this verse in church today and it was perfect for how my week was going. Casting all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you. I had some an anxiety filled week with this deployment, and knowing that i can tell him anything and give him my worries, makes me feel peace.

The Israelites had defeated and whose territory they took over east of the Jordan, from the Arnon Gorge to Mount Hermon, including all the eastern side of the Arabah.

Jesus sent out 72 people to go spread the word of God and heal the sick. He told them those that deny them, deny him, and those that deny Jesus, deny the father.
"All things have been committed to me by my Father. No one knows who the Son is except the Father, and no one knows who the Father is except the Son and those to whom the Son chooses to reveal him."

Day 98 --- Joshua 7-9 - Luke 9:37-62

Day 98 --- Joshua 7-9 - Luke 9:37-62

In Deuteronomy Ai and Achan were destroyed and rocks were heaped on them after. The pile of rocks still remains today. The covenant was renewed and Joshua read the entire book of law written by Moses to all the people of Israel.

A boy's father came to Jesus with his son that was demon possessed Jesus healed him. He then made a remark that the son of god will be betrayed in the hands of men, and they had no idea what he meant. They were arguing about who will be the greatest disciple, Jesus picked up a little boy and said whoever Whoever welcomes this little child in my name welcomes me; and whoever welcomes me welcomes the one who sent me. For he who is least among you all—he is the greatest.

Day 97 --- Joshua 4-6 - Luke 9:18-36

Day 97 --- Joshua 4-6 - Luke 9:18-36

Joshua called upon 12 men, one from each tribe. The flow of the Jordan was cut off before the arc of the covenant of the Lord. These stones are a memorial to the people of Israel forever. They are still there to this day. I would LOVE to go see this, i cant believe they are still there.

Jesus asked the disciples who people thought he was, they said some thought JOhn the baptist, Elijah, or an old Prophet. Peter told Jesus he knew he was Christ. Jesus told him not to tell anyone.

Tuesday, July 13, 2010

Day 96 --- Joshua 1-3 - Luke 9:1-17

Day 96 --- Joshua 1-3 - Luke 9:1-17

Joshua was told by god to lead the Israelites across the Jordan River to the land they were promised. He told them to be courageous and do not stray from the word because Joshua was put in charge of everyone. Israel crossed the Jordan on dry ground into the land they were promised to their ancestors.

Jesus gave the 12 disciples the power to heal the sick and spread God's word. He sent them out to do these acts. Jesus fed 5,000 people with a few loaves of bread and fish, and some were left over. I still can't imagine this. It is amazing to me! God is so good!

Monday, July 12, 2010

Day 95 --- Deuteronomy 32-34 - Luke 8:26-56

Day 95 --- Deuteronomy 32-34 - Luke 8:26-56

Moses spoke the words of a song in the hearing of the people and told them they are not just idle words, they are your life. Take the word so you can have your children obey carefully all the words of the law. Moses died on Mount Nebo. Moses spoke words to the Israelites before he died. No prophet in Israel has rose up like Moses and knew God face to face. This is the book of Deuteronomy.

A man named Jarius came to Jesus begging for help because his daughter of 12 years was dying. Jesus told Jarius not to be afraid and to believe, she will be healed. Jesus healed the girl when she was dead and people were shocked.

Day 94 --- Deuteronomy 30-31 - Luke 8:1-25

Day 94 --- Deuteronomy 30-31 - Luke 8:1-25

I liked this verse in Deuteronomy because it talked about after you have been cursed for disobeying God's commands and turn back to god he will have compassion on you and restore your life. Moses was a 120 years old when he turned the leadership over to Joshua.God predicated Isreals rebellion against God and predicted the worship of other Gods

Jesus tells a parable about the seed being gods word and by staying on the path you are obeying god and when the seeds fall off the path it is it he devil taking them and creating evil. Jesus tells alot of parables along with the light on the lampstand. When Jesus was speaking to people it was a large crows and someone told him that his mother and brothers were here but could not get through the crows, Jesus told him that his mothers and brothers are those who follow the word. Meaning, we are all brother and sisters when we believe.

Day 93 --- Deuteronomy 28-29 - Luke 7:31-50

Day 93 --- Deuteronomy 28-29 - Luke 7:31-50

In Deuteronomy 28 it discusses the blessings they will receive if they follow the Lord's commands and the curses if they disobey.

In Luke Jesus was annointed by a sinful woman. She wept on his feet and wiped them with her hair. She poured perfume on him. Jesus forgave her sins because of her love and faith towards the lord.

Day 92 --- Deuteronomy 26-27 - Luke 7:1-30

Day 92 --- Deuteronomy 26-27 - Luke 7:1-30
Deuteronomy is about the tithes and commands from the Lord. The levites should shout to to Israel in a loud voice.

Jesus healed the sick, restored the blind, let the deaf hear, the crippled walk. I couldn't imagine the shock on peoples faces. I wonder how some did not believe. I wish i could of witnessed some of his miracles. God still works the same, he cures people everyday, i have to my open my eyes and see the miracles all around me.

Day 91 --- Deuteronomy 23-25 - Luke 6:27-49

Day 91 --- Deuteronomy 23-25 - Luke 6:27-49

God continues to give commands to the Israelites on how to live and what to live by. He said this, 5 If a man has recently married, he must not be sent to war or have any other duty laid on him. For one year he is to be free to stay at home and bring happiness to the wife he has married. I really wish America lived by those rules because my anniversary is on Sunday and I am away from my husband. I do thiink the year is so important for happiness and we spent 3 months out of that year away from each other.

Luke 6 has some great verses in it. It talks about how to love your enemies and do good to those who hate you. It also talks about judging. It says not to judge or you to will be judged. I really try and remember this every time i cast judgement out to someone that god does the judging not I.

Day 90 --- Deuteronomy 20-22 - Luke 6:1-26

Day 90 --- Deuteronomy 20-22 - Luke 6:1-26
The Lord continued with his commands and not to be afraid going into battle because the Lord will protect them. It continued talking about the first born and marriage violations.
In Luke Jesus assigned his 12 apostles. The Pharisees were waiting to see if Jesus would heal on the sabbath. He said, "I ask you, which is lawful on the Sabbath: to do good or to do evil, to save life or to destroy it?" He then healed a crippled mans hand, and the pharisees began to plot against Jesus.
Jesus said to his disciples,
Blessed are you who are poor,
for yours is the kingdom of God.
21Blessed are you who hunger now,
for you will be satisfied.
Blessed are you who weep now,
for you will laugh.
22Blessed are you when men hate you,
when they exclude you and insult you
and reject your name as evil, because of the Son of Man.

23"Rejoice in that day and leap for joy, because great is your reward in heaven. For that is how their fathers treated the prophets.
24"But woe to you who are rich,
for you have already received your comfort.
25Woe to you who are well fed now,
for you will go hungry.
Woe to you who laugh now,
for you will mourn and weep.
26Woe to you when all men speak well of you,
for that is how their fathers treated the false prophets.

Day 89 --- Deuteronomy 17-19 - Luke 5:17-39

Day 89 --- Deuteronomy 17-19 - Luke 5:17-39

Deuteronomy continues talking about the commands God gives to the Israelites about following his word, offerings, courts, land, etc. This verse once again talks about an eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth.

Jesus healed a paralytic and the people were astonished. He told the man to get up, and he did. I love this verse that was in this passage. It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. 32I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance." Jesus tells alot of parables in the bible but this one is a direct quote that really made me think. It is not the strong Christians I need to help, its the ones who don't know Jesus.

Tuesday, July 6, 2010

Day 88 --- Deuteronomy 14-16 - Luke 5:1-16

Day 88 --- Deuteronomy 14-16 - Luke 5:1-16

The lord commanded them to eat certain foods and to avoid the ones that are unclean. He told them about tithes and debt. I thought it was interesting that he said no one should be poor because they are to help one another. If only we followed the same concept today, maybe the world would be different. He then explained passover, feasts, judges, and first born animals.

Jesus called the disciples in Luke 5. He commanded simon to go back out fishing and simon said, master we have been out all day and have not caught anything." When they went back out they caught so many fish their nets almost broke and Jesus told them, now you will catch men.

Monday, July 5, 2010

Day 87 --- Deuteronomy 11-13 - Luke 4:31-44

Day 87 --- Deuteronomy 11-13 - Luke 4:31-44

Moses told them to follow God's commands and obey his word. They have seen God do miraculous sights for them. He rescued them from egypt, stop the egyptians in the red sea and Moses told them to trust and follow his word. He told them not to love another god because god is a jealous God. The chapter talked about the one place to worship and not loving any other god.
In Luke Jesus heals many and he drives out demons from people. People were amazed at his teachings because his message had authority.

Day 86 --- Deuteronomy 8-10 - Luke 4:1-30

Everything the Israelites had gone through was planned. This verse is amazing to me. 40 years they followed God and he tested them the whole way.
Be careful to follow every command I am giving you today, so that you may live and increase and may enter and possess the land that the LORD promised on oath to your forefathers. 2 Remember how the LORD your God led you all the way in the desert these forty years, to humble you and to test you in order to know what was in your heart, whether or not you would keep his commands. 3 He humbled you, causing you to hunger and then feeding you with manna, which neither you nor your fathers had known, to teach you that man does not live on bread alone but on every word that comes from the mouth of the LORD. 4 Your clothes did not wear out and your feet did not swell during these forty years. 5 Know then in your heart that as a man disciplines his son, so the LORD your God disciplines you.

Deuteronomy 10:12-22 is a very powerful verse explaining the strength of gods love and to fear him, walk in his ways, and serve him

In luke Jesus was tempted by the devil for forty days and forty nights and no matter what the devil said Jesus stood firm with the Lord. He told the devil not to test God.

86- Deuteronomy 5-7 Luke 3

86- Deuteronomy 5-7 Luke 3

Deuteronomy 5-7 talks about the commandments and how important they are. We are to love the lord with all of our heart, all of our strength, and with all of our soul. We are to fear God because he is a jealous God. The commandments are so vital to living a christian life. God knows that it is impossible for us not to sin and that is why he forgives. Everyday I have to ask for forgiveness and if you trust and obey you will receive. It is so easy to covet what someone else has or want what you don't have. God does not want us to be this way and covet our neighbors belongings. We are to love the lord for our blessings and learn to live the way he intended us to. I head a song today that is called judgement day. We are all acting like there is going to be no judgement day was one of the verses, is not that the truth?

Luke 3 is about John the Baptist. I remembered from the previous books about him getting thrown in prison but was not sure why. He denied Herod's baptism because of the evil things he has done. So Herod locked John in Prison and that is where he eventually was beheaded.

Day 84 --- Deuteronomy 3-4 - Luke 2:25-52

Day 84 --- Deuteronomy 3-4 - Luke 2:25-52
Deuteronomy talked about the division of land and then goes into obedience. I liked this verse, Only be careful, and watch yourselves closely so that you do not forget the things your eyes have seen or let them slip from your heart as long as you live. Teach them to your children and to their children after them. I can't forget everything i have learned and grown so far. I have to teach them to my children one day so that they may know God's love.

I can't believe i never heard this story in Luke before. Jesus was 12 years old and wondered into the temple away from his parents. The people were amazed at his astonishing answers. When his parents asked why he would run away he said,"Didn't you know i would be in the fathers house?" This astonished mary and these things she treasured in her heart.

Day 83 --- Deuteronomy 1-2 - Luke 2:1-24

Day 83 --- Deuteronomy 1-2 - Luke 2:1-24

In Deuteronomy Moses talked about the Israelites not trusting God. They questioned God's intentions over and over again in Numbers and in Exodus. They wondered if Egypt was better than following God. This made God angry that they did not trust him. I try to always remember to trust Jesus. I am already missing home pretty bad but i keep telling myself to trust God, he knows best.

Luke 2: is the birth of Jesus and how Mary and Joseph had him at a stable because there was no room for an inn. I think today we are so spoiled by hospitals and luxuries, i could not imagine having a baby in a barn! but god was with Mary through this. An angel appeared to Shepards in a field and told them not to be afraid because he brings good news! The angel told them about Jesus and they went to Bethlehem to see for themselves.

Day 82 --- Numbers 34-36 - Luke 1:57-80

Day 82 --- Numbers 34-36 - Luke 1:57-80

Numbers talks about the boundaries of Canaan and who is assigned what land. Then follows the city of refugee and God talks about the definition of a murderer and how one needs to be put to death if they intentionally murder. This is the book of Numbers.

When John the Baptist was born his father began to speak again when asked what he should name the baby. People wondered who is John and what will he turn out to be because the Lord was surely with him. Zacheriah sung a song to the Lord

Day 81 --- Numbers 31-33 - Luke 1:39-56

Day 81 --- Numbers 31-33 - Luke 1:39-56
In numbers 33 the lord told Moses to record the stages in the Israelites Journey. this is helpful because they do move around so often.

Mary entered Elizabeth's home and rejoiced about the good things the Lord has done for them. She sang a song,
And Mary said:
"My soul glorifies the Lord
47and my spirit rejoices in God my Savior,
48for he has been mindful
of the humble state of his servant.
From now on all generations will call me blessed,
49for the Mighty One has done great things for me—
holy is his name.
50His mercy extends to those who fear him,
from generation to generation.
51He has performed mighty deeds with his arm;
he has scattered those who are proud in their inmost thoughts.
52He has brought down rulers from their thrones
but has lifted up the humble.
53He has filled the hungry with good things
but has sent the rich away empty.
54He has helped his servant Israel,
remembering to be merciful
55to Abraham and his descendants forever,
even as he said to our fathers."
She stayed with Elizabeth for 3 months, and then returned home.

Day 80 --- Numbers 28-30 - Luke 1:21-38

Day 80 --- Numbers 28-30 - Luke 1:21-38
The Lord said to Moses to give the Israelites these commands. He talks about the different types of offerings and feasts. The Lord also gave Moses the regulations concerning relationships between a husband and wife and a father and daughter still living at home.

An angel appeared to Mary and told her she is going to be pregnant and she is to name the baby Jesus, Son of God. Mary was confused and said how will that be since I am a virgin. The holy spirit will come upon her and with God ANYTHING is possible.

Numbers 26-27 Luke 1: 1-20

Numbers 26-27 Luke 1: 1-20

The second census was conducted to find men that were able to fight and 20 years of age or older. Makes me wonder why it was 20, when it is 18 today. Joshua succeeds to Moses and he laid his hands on him and commissioned him at the lord instructed through Moses.

Zechariah and his wife Elizabeth were unable to get pregnant. Both of them were upright in the sight of god. Angel Gabriel came down to tell them that Elizabeth with become pregnant. She told him be his to name him John, later to be known as John the baptist.

Numbers 23-25 Mark 16

Numbers 23-25 Mark 16

Balamm’s first, second, third, fourth, oracle and final oracle happened in 23-34. Men in Israel were indulging and immortality, as a result the lord had moses put them to death and God cast down a plague that killed 24,000.
When the Sabbath was over Jesus rose from the dead and appeared to the 11 disciples and rebuked them for their lack of faith. He told them to go and preach the word and after he spoke he went up to heaven and sat at the right hand of God. Then the disciples did as he said and preached everywhere with God working inside them. This is the book of Mark.

Day 76 --- Numbers 17-19 - Mark 15:1-25

Day 76 --- Numbers 17-19 - Mark 15:1-25

Numbers consists of the budding of Aarons staff. It also includes the procedure for water of cleansing and what is unclean and clean.

Pilate asked if he should release the king of the jews and the people screamed, crucify him! when he asked what crime he had committed they just screamed, crucify him! The soldiers mocked him and then crucified him on the third hour

Day 75 --- Numbers 15-16 - Mark 14:54-72

Day 75 --- Numbers 15-16 - Mark 14:54-72

Jesus told Peter that he would deny him three times. Peter told Jesus he would never deny him. When a servant girl asked if he was with Jesus, he said Not I. After he denied him three times he heard a rooster crow and he broke down and wept when he remembered what Jesus had said to him.

Day 74 --- Numbers 12-14 - Mark 14:27-53

Day 74 --- Numbers 12-14 - Mark 14:27-53
The Israelites did not trust God and wondered if they should go back to Egypt for a better life. Because of their sins the covenant and land promised to them was broken. God promised that he would be there and protect them from war if they came under sword. Because they broke the covenant, they were attacked and killed by the Cannanites.

Jesus predicts Peter's betrayal and Peter said he would never and would die with Jesus. Judah returned and kissed Jesus and had him arrested. He was the one who betrayed Jesus and had him arrested for money. Just as Jesus had predicted.

The spirit is willing, but the body is weak

Day 73 --- Numbers 9-11 - Mark 14:1-26

Day 73 --- Numbers 9-11 - Mark 14:1-26

Numbers 9 talks about the passover. It goes on and talks about the quail from the Lord. The Israelites were wailing that they had no meat to eat and they were better off in Egypt. The lord told them they would eat meat everyday until it was coming out of their nostrils for forty days because of their complaining.

The last supper happened in mark 14 and Jesus told them that one of the disciples will betray him and all of them said not I. He said it would of been better for this person never to be born. A women dumped expensive perfume on Jesus and she was criticized for doing this. Jesus told them to leave her alone she has done a great thing. Jesus will not be here forever and she is preparing him for burial.

Day 72 --- Numbers 7-8 - Mark 13:21-37

Day 72 --- Numbers 7-8 - Mark 13:21-37

In Numbers 7 it is the dedication of the alter when it was anointed and the offerings the Israelites brought.

Jesus continues talking about the end of the world. No ones knows the hour or the day which he will come, but Jesus said watch and be alert. It could happen at midnight, in the day, or when the rooster crows. Not even the angels in heaven know the day he is coming, no one but the Father.

Day 71 --- Numbers 5-6 - Mark 13:1-20

Day 71 --- Numbers 5-6 - Mark 13:1-20
Numbers 5 talks about the restitution for wrong doings and also talks about the test a women has to do to see if she is impure. If her husband suspects her sleeping with another person, he is to take her to the priest and the priest will conduct a test. If she has not the water will do nothing, but if she has it will eat away her thigh and make her abdomen swell. In Numbers 6 The Lord told Moses to have Aaron and his sons bless the Israelites by saying, 24 " '
"The LORD bless you
and keep you;

25 the LORD make his face shine upon you
and be gracious to you;

26 the LORD turn his face toward you
and give you peace." '

This is said at the church I went to growing up when the pastor leaves the pulpit. Now I understand why.

In Mark Jesus talked about the end of the world and this is what he said,
8Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be earthquakes in various places, and famines. These are the beginning of birth pains.

I can't help but hope that the Lord will come soon. Nations rise against other Nations, earthquakes in various places and famines. No one knows when he is coming, but I can't help but wonder if we are already experiencing birth pains.

Day 70 --- Numbers 3-4 - Mark 12:28-44

Day 70 --- Numbers 3-4 - Mark 12:28-44
Numbers 3-4 is the account of the family of Aaron and Moses at the time the LORD talked with Moses on Mount Sinai. Levites, Kohathites, Gershonites, and Merarites.

Jesus was asked what commandment was most important to him. Jesus said,
0Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.'The second is this: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.'There is no commandment greater than these."

I have so much trouble understanding the world and the hate in the world. Jesus is telling us to love everyone as we would our self. But look at how we treat each other on earth. Look at the war and the hatred between countries. Are we so ignorant that we think that we are not all God's children? This is why the war in Iraq is so frustrating to me because I see the world as a family and most christians do. I just wish everyone had Jesus in their hearts and see that we are all on this Earth together.

Day 69 --- Numbers 1-2 - Mark 12:1-27

Day 69 --- Numbers 1-2 - Mark 12:1-27

The Lord commanded Moses to have the Israelites count how many people are over the age of 20 and are able to serve in the army and separate them by clans. Total there was 603,550 men able to fight. The Israelites did everything that the Lord had commanded and encamped under their standards each with his clan and family.

Jesus told a parable of the tenants and it is a pretty easily understood parable. In the parable a man planted a vineyard and sent his only son that he loved to pick the fruit even though the tenants were killing the servants he sent.

Day 68 --- Leviticus 26-27 - Mark 11:19-33

Day 68 --- Leviticus 26-27 - Mark 11:19-33

God told the Israelites that he will always keep his covenant and he will bless them with good land and crops. He told them not to make idols and bow down to objects. He is Lord, the one who brought them out of Egypt and saved them.
If they do not listen to God then he will bring disease, terror, and fever to them. He will destroy their crops and fruit and send animals to destroy their animals. The Lord told them that if they confess their sins they will still be punished but he will remember the covenant and not destroy them completely.
This is the book of Leviticus.

And when you stand praying, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive him, so that your Father in heaven may forgive you your sins

Day 67 --- Leviticus 25 - Mark 11:1-18

Day 67 --- Leviticus 25 - Mark 11:1-18

I put this video in because in leviticus it is about the year of jubilee and this song has it in. I remembered this from church camp when i was younger.

As Jesus was going to Jerusalem he entered in a triumph riding a colt while his disciples laid their coats on the horse and on the path he road in.

Day 67 --- Leviticus 25 - Mark 11:1-18

Day 66 --- Leviticus 23-24 - Mark 10:32-52

Day 66 --- Leviticus 23-24 - Mark 10:32-52
Moses announced the appointed feasts for the Lord to the Israelites. A man blasphemed God and the Lord said to stone him. He talked about an eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth, a fracture for a fracture. If someone kills a man, they deserve to die. This is one of the reasons why capital punishment is so complicated, because to the religious it is explained why, but those not religious do not want to listen to the word of god.

Jesus again predicts his death and also heals a blind man that was calling for Jesus on the side of the road. His faith healed him and made him see again.

Day 65 --- Leviticus 21-22 - Mark 10:1-31

Day 65 --- Leviticus 21-22 - Mark 10:1-31

Moses told the Israelites rules for the priests and restrictions on marriage and sacrifices.

Jesus talked about divorce and that divorcing is adultery, unless an affair occurs. He also talks about marrying someone that has had a divorce is always adultery. He then talked to the rich young man and told him to sell everything he has. it is easier for a camel to enter heaven through the eye of a needle then with money.

Day 64 --- Leviticus 19-20 - Mark 9:30-50

Day 64 --- Leviticus 19-20 - Mark 9:30-50

In Leviticus God told Moses the laws the Israelites are to live by. He also told him the punishments for these sins and what is not tolerated. In Mark Jesus told the disciples the son of man will be betrayed, killed, and rise on the third day. They had no idea what he was talking about and was too scared to ask. Jesus told them it is better to cut off your hand if it causes you to sin because it is better to enter the kingdom of heaven with one hand then hell with two.

Day 63 --- Leviticus 17-18 - Mark 9:1-29

Day 63 --- Leviticus 17-18 - Mark 9:1-29

In Leviticus God gave strict instructions not to drink the blood of an animal because it is forbidden and unclean. He also told what unlawful sexual relationships are and a list of people not to have sexual relationships with.

Jesus transfigured before Peter, James, and John. God spoke through the clouds, "This is my son, whom I love. Listen to him!" Jesus drove the spirit out of a little boy and jesus told the boy's father, Everything is possible to whom believes.

Day 62 --- Leviticus 15-16 - Mark 8:22-38

Day 62 --- Leviticus 15-16 - Mark 8:22-38

I got to put in a song I heard at church, I lost gospel music and this song is awesome. When we are about to fall apart, remember that you will ALWAYS be safe in his arms. He is my strength my comfort and I feel safe with him. My faith has blossomed and I love you God with all my heart and will never deny you.

Today I had a hard time dealing with my deployment and I don't want to be lonely. Then I remembered Jesus talking to his disciples. When the disciples doubted him, he often said, "haven't you learned nothing." I thought about that and I have learned so much about trusting God to take care of my needs. This is my promise to you Lord, that I will trust you to take care of me the next 5 months and get my family through this time. I put my faith and trust in you.

Atonement was to be conducted once a year for all the sins of the Israelites. Leviticus also talks about the different discharges of female/male and how do conduct cleansing. In Mark 8 22-38 Jesus healed a blind man and restored his eye sight. I thought about how complicated the eyes are and even the human body, and how Jesus can heal in seconds. What a miracle. Jesus predicts his death and explains that if anyone denies him then the father will deny him. People thought of Jesus as a prophet, John the Baptist, Elijah but Peter said, "You are Christ." Then Jesus warned them not to tell anyone this.
