Job 25-27 Matthew 12:24-50

Day 18: Job 25-27 Matthew 12:24-50

The book of Job is a difficult book to fully understand. Job said this verse and it made me think of some things. 2 "As surely as God lives, who has denied me justice,
the Almighty, who has made me taste bitterness of soul,

3 as long as I have life within me,
the breath of God in my nostrils,

4 my lips will not speak wickedness,
and my tongue will utter no deceit.

5 I will never admit you are in the right;
till I die, I will not deny my integrity.

6 I will maintain my righteousness and never let go of it;
my conscience will not reproach me as long as I live.

How many times in our life will be cling to our dignity and never admit we are wrong? Job feels the same when others try to sway his thinking. Job never wants to admit that he is wrong.

I was recently arguing with Chadd about a verse in the bible. He said that there is one sin God will not forgive and I thought he was wrong until i stumbled on this verse. 31And so I tell you, every sin and blasphemy will be forgiven men, but the blasphemy against the Spirit will not be forgiven. 32Anyone who speaks a word against the Son of Man will be forgiven, but anyone who speaks against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven, either in this age or in the age to come.

37For by your words you will be acquitted, and by your words you will be condemned."
Remember what we do on Earth, what we say, and how we act will be acquitted or will be condemned on judgement day.

Job 22-24 - Matthew 12:1-23

Day 17 --- Job 22-24 - Matthew 12:1-23
First off, I am leaving tomorrow for vacation. I will be continuing my reading but will not be able to post daily. I will type them on my computer and post when i can, God Bless!

Eliphaz and Job continue their conversation and Job's complaint is still bitter. Job says that if he goes to the north and south God is not there, if he travels to the East and West he is no where to be found.

A man in the synagogue tried to accuse Jesus and asked him if it was lawful to heal on the sabbath? Jesus said to him, "If any of you has a sheep and it falls into a pit on the Sabbath, will you not take hold of it and lift it out? 12How much more valuable is a man than a sheep! Therefore it is lawful to do good on the Sabbath." The pharisees began to plot how to kill Jesus. Jesus continued to heal the sick.

Job 20-21 Matthew 11

Day: 16 Job 20-21 Matthew 11

Zophar is bothered by what Job is speaking of and confronts him. He tells of the things that will happen to the wicked when God meets on judgement day. Job tells Zophar to listen to what he is saying, he is not wicked. Job wants him to listen to him fully before he is mocked.

Jesus began teaching and preaching in the towns of Galilee. He told the crowd about John the Baptist being more than a prophet. My favorite verse from Jesus was, "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. 29Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30For my yoke is easy and my burden is light."

Job 17:19 - Matthew 10: 21-42

Day 15: Job 17:19 - Matthew 10: 21-42
Music is a great way to praise God and personally is a way that I worship. This is another a great song.

Job once again continues to blame god and Bildad the Shuhite questioned him when the speeches will end and if he sensible then he can talk to Job. Job replies, " Though I cry. I have been wronged!I get no response."

The more I read Matthew the more I love this chapter. When Jesus sent his disciples out to spread the news of the Lord he gave them instructions. Jesus said, " Whoever acknowledges me before men, I will also acknowledge him before my Father in heaven. But whoever disowns me before men, I will disown him before my Father in heaven." This simply means do not deny God on Earth to men. No matter what evil approaches me, or what evil people do to me, they cannot take away my faith. Jesus will not deny me to his father. He also said," He who receives you receives me, and he who receives me receives the one who sent me." Judgement day is coming, and God will know my love.

Job 14-16 Matthew 10: 1-20

Day 14: (2 weeks into this ) Job 14-16 Matthew 10: 1-20
I want to start off talking about this song i heard in church today. It was the first time I heard it and it really was a self reflecting song. It talks about not going through the motions of your life and finding a reason for your life. If you listen to these words, you will understand what I mean.

Job sees himself as God's target and views his situation as the reverse of Eliphaz's description. Job continues to point blame at God because he is innocent.

In Matthew, Jesus sends his 12 disciples to spread the word of the Lord, to heal the sick, and spread the news that the kingdom of heaven is near. The twelve disciples are: Simon (Peter), Andrew, James, John, Philip, Bartholomew, Thomas, Matthew, James, Simon, Judas, and Thaddaeus.

Job 11:13 Matthew 9: 18-38

In Matthew Jesus continues to heal the sick. A girl had died and he went into her house and touched her hand in the girl got up. Can you imagine? I would to have seen that. He healed those who had faith in their hearts.

In Job, once again Job continues to doubt God. He is so upset that God would test him and put sores on his body and take his family away that he now thinks that God does whatever he pleases and there is no one to say any different. Zophar argues with Job about his understand of Gods will.

Job 8-10 Matthew 9: 1-17

Day 12: Job 8-10 Matthew 9:1-17
In Job 8-10 Job is questioning god and why has he hurt him. Job imagines that god is angry with him and that he takes delight in Job continues and says that whether he is innocent or guilty, god will not treat him justly.

Matthew 9 1:17 Jesus continues to heal the sick. He healed a paralytic and told the man to get up and go home. My favorite verse out of these was when Jesus said, " I desire mercy not sacrifice. For I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners."

Job 5-7 Matthew 8:18-34

Day 11: Job 5-7 Matthew 8:18-34
As I was reading Job I came across a verse that made me stop and think. "For he wounds, but he also binds up; he injures but his hands also heal." There have been times in my life that I have been wounded in side but God filled my emptiness with his love. I am sure everyone can think of something they have personally experienced or witnessed where this has happened.
In Matthew, Jesus was sleeping when his disciples woke him up and screaming Lord Save Us! A giant storm came up on the lake and they feared they were going to drown. Jesus replied, " You of little faith, why are you so afraid." Everyday i worry or find something I am afraid of doing. Whether it be a test, homework, or anything that comes upon me. I need to have more faith in God, once again, he is in control of my life.

Job 3-4 Matthew 8:1-17

Day 10: Job 3-4 Matthew 8:1-17
Job starts to question god in Chapter three and questions life. Eliphaz counsels Job to be confident that his piety (fear) will count with God. God is chastening him with sin, but good is in the end. He can be assured that God will not destroy him with the wicked.
In Matthew 8 Jesus cured a man with Leprosy, a servant, and Peter's mother in law. I love reading these stories because i try to imagine if I was there to witness these miracles. I remember when Karen was dying and how I prayed so hard that God would heal her. It frustrated me that healing her was not in his plans. Now i think that God has other plans for Karen in heaven. What a glorious gift. As humans we look at death as something terrible, yet the sadness that is left on Earth is terrible, but the reward is something we as humans can never ever began to understand what it will be like.

Hold fast, he is coming

Job 1-2 Matthew 7

Day 9: Job 1-2 Matthew 7
Satan question God, " Does Job fear God for nothing?' The Lord blessed Job with a family, good fortune, and all that he has. Satan told God that if he took away everything he has, Job would surely curse God's name. God took away his family and put sores all over Job's body. Instead of resenting the Lord like Satan thought he would, Job praised his name and did not sin by charging God with wrongdoing. Life is going to throw twists and turns at me, I need to remember that blaming God is not the answer. I never know if God is testing my faith, like he did with Job.
Matthew 7 "Do not judge, or you too will be judged." Everyday I struggle with this like most people. who am i to judge? We will all face God on judgement day. It is so quick to cast on judgement, but do we know everything about that person? Not even my husband, friends, or my family know me the way Jesus knows me.
Jesus said, "Do to others what you would have them do to you." I think we have all heard this in our lives a time or two. I recite this to elementary students when they treat others wrong. I need to remember to not cast out judgement and treat others the way God intended us to. Jesus spoke, " Everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock." Jesus also said that, " He who hears these words and does not put them into practice is like a foolish man who built his house on sand." I need to remember God's word and live by it.

Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you

He was numbered among transgressors,
We did esteem Him forsaken by His God;
As our sacrifice He died,
That the law be satisfied,
And all our sin,
and all our sin,
And all our sin was laid on Him

Genesis 20-22 Matthew 6: 19-34

Day 8: Genesis 20-22 Matthew 6:19-34
Genesis 20-22 goes through the prophet Abrahams life. He had a son Isaac with his wife Sarah and god called upon him to sacrifice his son. When Abraham raised his knife to do so, God stopped him and gave him a ram to sacrifice in place. God knew that Abraham feared him.

Matthew 6:19-22 talks about treasures in heaven. On Earth we get too wrapped up with money and having the biggest house, best clothes, most money, etc. When we go to heaven, does any of that really matter? The real treasure is in our hearts. "You cannot serve both God and money.

Matthew 23:34 was very familiar to me. Whenever i would worry about things my mother always recited to me, "Do not worry about tomorrow, for today has enough troubles of its own." God does not want us to worry about our lives, what we will eat or drink. Life is more important than food and the body is more important than clothes. " Seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well." Sometimes I get so wrapped up in the house, myself, and even with school that I forget that I am not in control of my life. God doesn't want me to worry about these things, he will provide what I need. The real treasure lies in my heart.

Genesis 18-19 Matthew 6: 1-18

Day 7: One week down :)) Genesis 18-19 Matthew 6:1-18
In Matthew 6 The Lord told Abraham his wife Sarah will have another child, when Sarah overheard this she laughed. The lord questioned why this was funny and she replied that she was past her childbearing time and was old. I thought about this and you never know what God has in store for your life, I am not in control of my life.
Matthew 6 starts out talking about giving to the needy. Jesus does not want us to be hypocrites and publicize that we done great things for the needy. If you are more concerned with recognition from people then you will have no reward from your heavenly father. God knows exactly why we do the things we do and if we are giving to the needy it is because it is in our hearts and not for glory. Be humble, God will reward you in full.

This same concept applies to praying. Matthew 6: 6 "When you pray go into your room, close the door and pray to your father who is unseen. Then your father will see what you have done in secret and will reward you." God does not want us to pray on street corners just to be seen by people. Praying and talking to God has to come from your heart, and not just for recognition. "For if you forgive men when they sin against you, your heavenly father will also forgive you." I am not doing this blog for recognition, I am doing this to strengthen my relationship with God and if anyone reads this they can learn about the Lord.
But if you do not forgive men their sins, your father will not forgive your sins. I think that we all need to realize that everyone makes mistakes and Jesus died for OUR sins. Don't live with grudges or hatred in your heart, let the lord shine through.

Genesis 16-17 Matthew 5: 27-48

Day 6 : Genesis 16-17 Matthew 27-48

In Genesis 17 God makes a covenant with Abram and many generations to come that every male will be circumcised who is eight days old. God changed Abram's wife Sarai's name to Sarah. When people defend poligamy they often talk about Abram and that he had many wives. This can be argued from different view points. Abram had a wife Sarai but she was infertile, so Sarai let Abram wed their housekeeper Hagar to bear a child. Back then this was not "abnormal." Sarai would actually sit on Hagar's lap when Hagar delivered a baby. If you think about it, when parents cant get pregnant in this lifetime they have their sperm and egg surgically implanted in them. Or, they have a surrogate mother. This was the same concept, Abram did not live Hagar, she was used to bear his child They named their son Ishmael. Later, God then told Abram that his wife Sarah will bear a child and to call him Isaac.

I love Matthew chapter 5. I feel so strongly about marriage and God said that one who divorces his wife except for marital unfaithfulness causes her to come become an adulteress. I try to keep God in our marriage as much as possible. In 5: 33-37 the Lord talks about taking his name in vain. This is an easy thing to throw around, how many times a week do you hear oh my god? this is something i want to work on as a Christian. If someone strikes you on the right cheek, turn the other one as well. My mom used to tell me that when someone would cause problems for me. Lastly, the chapter talks about loving your enemies. This is something i have been praying and working on. Instead of loving your enemy and hating your neighbor, God said
"Love your neighbors and pray for those who persecute against you." We are all brothers and sisters on Earth, all sons and daughters of Jesus.

Genesis 13-15 Matthew 5: 1-26

Day 5: Genesis 13-15 Matthew 5: 1-26
13-15 was Abrams life and how be became rich. God made a covenant with Abram giving his descendants the river in Egypt to the great river Euphrates.
I highly recommend reading Matthew chapter 5. "Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me." Never once will my faith be shaken, evil can come to me and mock the Lord, but I am blessed. In Chapter 5 Jesus says that "You are the light of the world." No one lights a lamp and hides it under a table, they put it on the table for everyone to see. Jesus wants us to shine our light and show others our good deeds and praise your father in heaven.

"Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness for theirs is the kingdom of heaven."

Genesis 10-12 Matthew 4

Day 4: Genesis 10-12 Matthew 4

Ever wonder where all the different languages come from? Could you imagine if we all spoke the same language? I think the world would be less complicated, but God did this for a reason. When the clans of Noah's sons spread across the nation and started to build a tower that reaches the heavens, God said, "If as one people speaking the same language they have begun to do this, then nothing they plan to do will be impossible for them." When God spread them over all the Earth and confused the languages, they stopped building and that it is why its called "Babel."

In Matthew 4 Jesus told Satan "It is also written: Do not put the Lord your God to the test." I thought about this for a while and there have been times in my younger life when I have wanted something in my life and would ask God for it. I thought if i believed in him, he will give me all that i need and want if he was real. We should never test God, and remember to worship the Lord and serve him only. I love in chapter 4 when Jesus heals the sick and the news spread all over syria. What a sight to see, could you imagine?

Matthew 4:17 "Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is near."

Genesis 6-9, Matthew 3

Day 3: Genesis 6-9 Matthew 3

I have to admit, even the short while i have been doing this I have felt closer to God and felt like I am doing this for my relationship with him. I have been going to church every Sunday since i was born, but i always got pieces of stories and scriptures and this is pulling everything together for me.

After God flooded the Earth, Noah sent a Dove out to see if it landed on ground. The Dove came back with an Olive Leaf, then never returned. Noah knew the flood was over. God's covenant for generations and generations and to every living creature on this Earth was to never flood the Earth again, and the rainbow is a symbol of his covenant he made to us. When you look at a rainbow and think how beautiful it is, realize just how beautiful the meaning of the rainbow is. After the flood god was telling Noah to account for every man because life was a gift from god and was precious. Most people have heard this verse sometime in their life.
Gen 9:6 Whoever sheds the blood of man, by man shall his blood be shed; for in his image of God has God made man.

Matthew 3:
When Jesus was getting baptized, John the Baptised told Jesus he felt that he needed to be baptized by him, and why would Jesus want him to do it. I felt the same reading it, how could a human baptize the holy one? Jesus replied Matthew 3:15 "Let it be so now; it is proper for us to do this to fulfill all righteousness." At that moment heaven was opened and God spoke saying this is my son, whom i love and with him i am well pleased. Wow, the thought of that gives me chills, what a majestic sight to see.

Let him in your heart, he will show you the way.

Genesis 4-6 Matthew 2

DAY 2: Genesis 4-6 Matthew 2
As i was reading genesis the Lord asked Noah to build a boat 450 ft long because God was flooding the Earth. Most people know the story, but God was so upset with how corrupt the world had became. He was upset at what humans had done to the precious land. How have humans changed since then? Makes me wonder how we can destroy what our Father has given us. In geography class tonight we actually learned the genealogy of Jesus, just as i read last night. We learned it to better understand the different religions in the middle east. Matthew 2 is such an amazing story oh prophets and the angel that appeared to Joseph telling him where to go. This was the birth of Jesus. A classmate in my geography class passed away this week,he was 23. May god bless him and his family.
Hold fast...he is coming

Genesis 1-3 , Mathew 1

Day 1: My Journey begins
Genesis has always been one of my favorite books and I love reading on how the world was made. Scientists fuss about the big bang theory, but maybe there is evidence of the "big bang" but did they ever consider it was God's creation? I think we need to remember that on the seventh day God rested, and Sunday is our day of rest. The Hebrew translation for the origin of the noun Sabbath is rested, hints the Sabbath Day. As I read Chapter 2 about the Garden of Eden and how the rivers that ran through it were Tigris and Euphrates, it made me wonder how some people believe the Garden of Eden is in Missouri. I reached Chadd's favorite part of the bible and as I was reading out loud in bed, i heard him laugh. A woman was created for a man. It makes me wonder if Adam and Eve did not eat from the tree of good and evil what our lives would be like. Could you imagine walking around naked and not knowing you were naked? It states in Genesis that woman experience pain in childbirth because Eve ate the apple from the tree, thank you eve! As i watch the news about the war and Pakistan (currently on the news) makes me sick to think what we did to this Earth that the Lord has created for us. The middle east is where it all began, and now look at it.
Matthew 1 is the record of genealogy of Jesus
