Pharaoh had a dream that he could not interrupt, until he heard of Joseph. Joseph interrupted his dream by God and told him that Egypt will experience 7 years of famine. Because of his knowledge, Pharaoh granted him in charge of his palace. After 7 years of abundance can 7 years of famine, just as Joseph has predicted. When the people of Egypt panicked, Pharaoh told them to go see Joseph and listen to him. Joseph sold the people grains that he has prepared the 7 years of abundance. Joseph's brothers came to Egypt to buy grain off of Joseph, but they did not recognize Joseph. When Joseph realized that they were his brothers he told them they were spies and tested. them.
